We really do depend on gifts in Wills

Of course, when you write your Will you’ll want to put your loved ones first. But if you can make room
for a gift to Guide Dogs it could do so much, helping to change the life of a blind or partially-sighted
person forever.
Your gift could be used in so many ways. Perhaps it could help us meet the costs of feeding guide
dog puppies, or fund equipment at our training centres, or simply go towards the cost of training a
guide dog. Alternatively your gift could help us reach out to the 200,000 people across the UK who
could benefit from mobility training or support. It could even help us fund vital ophthalmic research
into sight loss to help prevent blindness in the future.
However your gift will help, it’s incredible to think that 2 out of 3 guide dogs are funded by gifts that
people leave in their Wills.
In 2008, 62% of our voluntary income came from gifts in Wills.
Our Annual Review can tell you more about the inspiring work Guide Dogs does.
Your gift could train a guide dog
- Volunteer puppy walkers gently nurture young pups to get them used to the big wide world
- At the age of 14 months, guide dog puppies go to guide dog school and work with a specialist trainer
- Guide Dog Mobility Instructors sharpen their skills to get them ready for partnering a blind or partially-sighted owner
And a gift in your Will, no matter how large or small, could
make sure it continues.
The independence my dogs have given me
is fantastic; it's little short of a miracle.
